The palm leaf, the substitute we were looking for

The palm leaf, the substitute we were looking for

In the current times, many industries from different sectors seek to find different sources of resources to replace the traditional ones. An example of this, perhaps the most famous, is the "new" electric cars, or rather, electric motors. In this case, manufacturers, for the most part, have decided to bet on electric cars, or hybrids, in which fossil fuel consumption is reduced. This has not only caused a revolution in the automobile world but it is an example that the powerful oil oligarchies begin to claudicate in favor of a greener model, with lower maintenance costs and equal or better performance.

In other industries we find similar examples. Manufacturers try to find different raw materials, energy sources or materials that change their production model or make the entire production process cover as little pollution as possible.

As you already know, in Packawin we bet only on natural products, totally organic, whose production does not affect the environment and whose decomposition is developed in a totally natural way.

In this case, we have to talk about our new product, which you can already find on our website, and that is also the best solution to a big problem that seriously concerns us and that we must tackle as soon as possible.

We talk about the palm or palm leaf. There are many everyday utensils and objects of Palm leaf and Packawin has opted for them. From hats, carrycot or brooms to mats, baby cribs, harnesses for animals ...

From Packawin, we are proud to have this range of products. A range of palm leaf dishes that in addition to presenting our dishes, tapas, dinners, events, etc. in an elegant and natural way, are utensils whose manufacture does not pollute, nor does their production break the environment.

The production process is very simple, I tell you:

-The process begins with the collection of the fallen leaves of the palm trees. That is to say, all the palm leaves used for the elaboration of this tableware are already fallen leaves, therefore the forest space is not damaged.

-These leaves are rinsed in water with turmeric several times, making the material clean of insects, dirt, etc.

-After being rinsed they are allowed to dry in the open air without any chemical.

-Once they are very dry, they stretch and crush forming a compact mass that is molded with a hot press to make the different formats and sizes you can find.

Therefore, until the dish is used for the first time there has been no external chemical agent that has influenced its manufacturing process (except the inevitable fuel that is spent on transportation). Then, if its use is personal, you can use it again! Because they are waterproof, you can scrub them and let them dry and ready to use again, isn't it great?

La palm leaf tableware It cannot be called fully reusable, since its composition degrades naturally, and obviously it will never last as a ceramic plate or a plastic tray, but that is not the purpose of this wonderful material. The important thing is that, just as our ancestors did, we use the resources that nature gives us to manufacture our utensils (at least those that we can manufacture naturally), which are also waste resources, which would probably become trash, for As much we do a double ecological function, we save the cost of manufacturing a similar utensil by picking up a dry leaf from a tree and turning it into a fantastic substitute for plastic.

It is likely that in a week, or a month, or at Christmas, you have the twist of using disposable tableware, since the amount of plates, trays, bowls that accumulate is very large; Then, think of all those plastics that end up in the ocean, or on the banks of the rivers or, ultimately, in our environment. Choose palm leaf and not only will you contribute to not dirtying our beaches but you will have a nice touch for your guests, who will also become aware of the importance of the individual contribution, and when you finish your celebration, you choose: you throw it in the compost with the rest of the organic waste or scrub and reuse.
